Poor patient seeks free treatment of her total Hip replacement surgery in AIIMS - Delhi High Court issue notices to GOI, AIIMS and State of Bihar

Justice Manmohan of Delhi High Court today (02.02.2016) issued notices to GOI, AIIMS and State of Bihar on a petition filed by 35 years old poor patient Asha Devi from Bihar through Advocate Ashok Agarwal seeking directions against the AIIMS to provide her free treatment of total hip replacement surgery. The AIIMS has asked her to deposit Rs. one lakh 27 thousands in the hospital. The poor patient has no money to pay. Family is living in abject poverty. The High Court impleaded State of Bihar in the petition to ascertain as to why the poor patients from Bihar not getting free treatment in Bihar itself and are forced to come Delhi . The High Court passed an interim order directing AIIMS to immediate examine the petitioner and submit the status report on her heath condition before the next date of hearing. Next date of hearing is 19.02.2016.

A family from mathura ( mrs. Geeta Devi 28 yrs and her husband mr. Jagvir 37 yrs.)approached me today . Jagvir was suffering from severe kidney disorder and renal failure .A few months back he got himself treated in Ganga ram hospital . Due to expensive treatment he was forced to sell off his 5 buffaloes @ 50,000 even though he had got help from the PMO office which was around Rs. 3 lakh . Geeta his wife donated the kidney to her husband . The operation was successful . However Geeta needs as much care as her husband does post kidney transplant. Even then their monthly expenditure is amounting to approximately a sum of Rs. 15000 . This family who were working as laborers initially is stranded having sold their land as well as their cattle to save their lives in the capital city .They are neither left with money, nor with any source of income due to their incapacity to work because of their poor health . Both Geet and Jagvir have been referred to SGRH for their further treatment under ews category. Such is the story of the poor and underprivileged suffering from various types of severe and acute diseases in our motherland .

7 Teachers move Delhi High Court claiming 6th pay commission salary

Justice V.K. Rao of Delhi High Court yesterday has issued notices to Kulachi Hansraj Model School & DoE to file their replies by 12.01.2016 to the writ petitions filed by 7 teachers of Kulachi Hansraj Model School seeking directions against the school for re-fixing of their pay in-terms of 6^th pay commission and for payment of arrears of salary arising there from. These teachers through Adv Ashok Agarwal have filed writ petitions in the High Court highlighting the fact that despite their legal entitlement for 6^th pay commission salary, the school has not paid the same till date and they are still getting salary in terms of 5^th pay commission.
