The court has been seized of the problem since 2009, when an association of parents moved court alleging that schools hiked the fees “unreasonably“ under the garb of honoring Sixth Pay Commission mandate. Through advocate Ashok Agarwal, the parents accused the schools of arbitrary hike in fee but not paying increased salaries to their teaching and non-teaching staff as per the 6th pay commission.
